At the beginning of April, Sven Burkhard, the CEO of Elanders Print & Packaging, presented Elanders’ new strategy.

The new corporate strategy of Elanders Print & Packaging in Germany was presented on April 1 as part of an internal company celebration under the motto “One Team – One Brand – One Company”. The new concept comprises four so-called business units, which are made up of the Print on Demand/Mass Customization, Packaging, Publishing Solutions and Innovative Print Products areas.

Since the acquisition in 2016 of Schmid Druck GmbH in Kaisheim and 2021 of Schätzl Druck & Medien GmbH in Donauwörth, the companies have been operating as three independent brands together with Elanders Germany GmbH in Waiblingen. In the future, the focus will no longer be on the individual sites, but instead will be bundled in cross-divisional and cross-site teams of experts. For our customers, it is ultimately not relevant at which location production takes place, but rather to be advised with the appropriate expertise and to have the appropriate specialists available for the respective needs, says Sven Burkhard in the interview.

In the course of this restructuring, the new corporate design under which Elanders Print & Packaging will operate in the future was also presented. These include four new logos and color schemes for the newly adopted business units.

The merger of the companies and the uniform external appearance also strengthen the cohesion within the companies. The company’s new vision is now “Print-On-Demand Worldwide”. With the resulting four business units, Elanders Print & Packaging aims to expand into high-growth markets that both open up new target markets and offer synergies for existing business areas.

After an in-depth analysis of our own strengths and the clear goal of playing a central role in the areas of Mass Customization, Packaging, Publishing and Innovative Products, we decided to focus on these business areas. Our claim to our customers is to be the best in the respective target markets. We can already be proud of being at the forefront in these areas. We are convinced that only those companies that strive to achieve this goal will be able to prevail in the future, emphasizes board member Sven Burkhard.

Transformation requires not only optimizing what we produce, but also how we do it – and in a digital context. The question is how customers will place their orders in the future and how the files will get to our machines. The interaction of hardware and software, including data transmission to the machines via API interfaces, will lead to another decisive competitive advantage.

As part of the rebranding of the three companies, a new corporate website (www.elanders.de) was also unveiled to showcase the four new business units. There will also be a new social media concept in the coming weeks and months.

In an interview on the restructuring, Sven Burkhard also emphasizes how proud he is of all the employees of the Elanders, Schätzl and Schmid companies. He is also pleased that everyone is pulling in the same direction and seeing the sense of transformation for the whole company.
